An Avondale woman drowned early Friday in her bathtub, officials said.
The 27-year-old was last seen by her parents about 3 a.m., said Avondale Fire-Rescue spokesman Art Snapp. About 4 a.m., the parents found her fully submerged in her bathtub.
The woman had no heart activity when firefighters arrived, Snapp said. She was taken to West Valley Hospital in Goodyear, where they tried to revive her and got a heartbeat, but it wasn't strong enough to sustain. She was pronounced dead about 4:30 a.m. Her name has not been released.
The Avondale Police Department has taken over the investigation, Snapp said.
