Toddler in hospital after nearly drowning Leigh Munsil The Arizona Republic Nov. 5, 2007 11:01 AM An 18-month-old boy visiting from Texas was hospitalized Monday morning after nearly drowning in his grandfather's fenced pool near 68th Street and Chaparral Road in Scottsdale, police said.
Scottsdale police dispatched a car at 7:50 a.m. to the scene of the home, where the grandfather was administering CPR, police said.
The boy was transported to Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn at 8:05 a.m. and later transferred to Phoenix Children's Hospital.
The boy was fed breakfast at 6 a.m. and found in the fenced pool at 7:49 a.m., when a 911 call was made, police said. It is unknown how long the boy was under the water or how he got into the pool, police said.
