Officials say an 18-month-old child was not breathing when he was pulled from a backyard pool in Phoenix Saturday.
Phoenix Fire Department spokesman Dorian Jackson said the toddler was discovered by his mother about 2 p.m. at the home near 75th Avenue and Indian School Road.
Jackson said the child was not breathing when he was pulled out of the water, but by the time firefighters arrived he was breathing on his own.
According to Jackson the child was transported to a Valley hospital as a precaution.
It was unknown how long the child was in the pool, which Jackson said contained green water.
There was a makeshift barrier to the pool, which might have blown over in last night's storm, according to Jackson.
The child is expected to be OK.
