A teen girl nearly drowned in a community pool in Goodyear Saturday evening and is fighting for her life at a nearby hospital.
Rescuers received the call at about 6:15 and arrived to find the girl not breathing and without a heartbeat, said Capt. Courtney Jenkins, a fire spokesman. They were able to revive her and transport her by ambulance to West Valley Hospital in Goodyear.
Her lungs are still filled with water and it's unclear yet whether she will survive, Jenkins said. The girl may have had a seizure, causing her to nearly drown.
