An infant was taken to a local hospital after nearly drowning in a bathtub, the Buckeye Fire Department said.
Fire officials responded to a near drowning call at a house near Interstate 10 and Verrado Way in Buckeye at around 8 p.m. Tuesday, where a 7-month-old infant was found face down in a bathtub by his mother, officials said.
Officials said the mother took her son out of the bathtub, and did CPR. The infant was alert and crying when fire officials arrived at the scene.
Fire officials said the infant was transported to Phoenix Children’s Hospital by helicopter. He is in stable condition.
