TEMPE, A 35-year-old man was pronounced dead Wednesday after his roommate found him floating in his backyard pool.
Richard Punch was found float ing near the bottom of his pool shortly after 4 p.m. in the 700 block of East Taylor Street, said Larry Randall, a Tempe Fire De partment spokesman.
Firefighters were unable to revive the man at the scene and he was taken to Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn by ambulance, Randall said.
Punch was last seen sitting in a patio chair at 3 p.m., Randall said.
