A 3-year-old boy was playing inside while his grandmother performed her normal household chores.As she finished mopping the kitchen floor, she turned and realized her 3-year-old grandson was gone, reported Sandy Raynor, Public Information office for the Glendale Fire Department.
The home on West Solano drive didn't have a pool fence to slow the 3-year-old down. The frantic grandmother found him at the bottom of the pool.
"This was Glendale's 7th water related incident," said Raynor. "Three of which have been fatalities. All but one incident involved children under the age of 3."
A Glendale fireman checked with St. Joseph Hospital on the young boys condition and was please to learn that he was awake and alert. He will probably suffer no permanent injuries.
