A 3 year-old girl drowned at a pool in an Ahwatukee apartment complex Saturday afternoon.

Other adults and children were in the community pool at the complex, in the 13000 block of South 48th Street, when the girl made her way into the pool a short time before 5 p.m.

She was found a short time later floating in the pool.

An adult tried to perform CPR and the girl was taken to a hospital where she later died.
