PEORIA - Emergency crews recovered the body of a person who drowned at Lake Pleasant on Saturday, said Deputy Doug Matteson, spokesman for the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office.

Matteson said the person jumped into about 12 feet of murky water around 6 p.m. and never surfaced. The drowning occurred near One Cow Cove. Matteson declined to release the name or gender of the victim, pending family notification. advertisement
