A 5-year-old boy was taken to a local hospital today after he was found in a pool in Phoenix, fire officials said.
The fire department received a call of a drowning around 1:30 p.m. in the 9400 block of West Monte Vista Road in Phoenix, said Frank Salomon, deputy chief of public affairs with the Phoenix Fire Department.
Someone performed CPR on the boy before fire crews arrived, Salomon said.
The boy was breathing when crews arrived, and he was transported to Phoenix Children's Hospital, Salomon said.
No additional information was available.
