Phoenix fire officials said a 3-year-old boy is expected to be all right after he was submerged in an apartment complex pool on Sunday night.
The incident occurred about 7 p.m. in the 4200 block of north of 21st Avenue. The toddler was transported to St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center, where he is alive and conscious, said Phoenix Fire Chief Bob Khan.
"He's going to be OK," Khan said. "There may be some possible secondary consequences (from the incident.)"
Khan called it a "submersion, more like a scare . . . not near drowning."
