A 3-year-old boy died Tuesday afternoon after he was found at the bottom of a residential swimming pool.Trevor Starkey's stepfather, who was at home with other children, was distracted for "just a few seconds" and lost track of the boy, Division Chief Bob Khan said.
The boy marks the sixth Phoenix drowning so far this year; three of those have been children.
Paramedics arrived at the home in the 6700 block of West Flower Avenue about 3:45 p.m. There, they found family members conducting CPR on the child, Khan said.
The boy was transported to St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
