A 2-year-old Phoenix boy nearly drowned Tuesday while playing with his brother in an inflatable pool.
Joseph Lujan and his brother, Isaac, 4, slipped away from their mother and went out to play in the pool in the 2100 block of East Fillmore Street, Fire Capt. Doug Mummert said.
Isaac apparently was trying to ride on Joseph's shoulders or back and pushed him underwater, Mummert said.
A neighbor jumped over a 6-foot chain link fence to pull Joseph from the water and get him breathing again.
Joseph was taken to Maricopa Medical Center.
