A body found in the Colorado River has been identified as a Phoenix man reported missing last month on a commercial rafting trip in Grand Canyon National Park.

Park officials announced Friday that the Coconino County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed the body was that of 68-year-old Victor Tseng.

The body was recovered July 4 about 25 miles from where Tseng reportedly fell into from a ledge into the river on June 17. Authorities say he wasn’t wearing a life jacket.

Park Service officials say search and rescue teams combed the area by air and boat for days but turned up no clues about Tseng’s whereabouts.

Flyers with Tseng’s picture and description had remained posted at river trip launch areas and takeout points until the body was found and identified.
